We’re Not Really Strangers started as a game designed to create meaningful connections.



Now, with 10m+ followers, it’s a lifestyle brand that embodies a generation coming of age in a digital world…
...A generation that values real connection, empathy, and curiosity.
As a senior designer, these were the questions I explored at WNRS.
What looks and sounds true to the brand?

Visually, we kept the brand simple, honest, and human: limited colors, generous white space, and clear typography. Photography felt raw and unfiltered, like something you’d capture on an iPhone. The goal was to let the human experience speak for itself.
With so much noise online, how do we make engagement effortless?

Every creative choice was about restraint and clarity.
How do we build an ecosystem where every piece fits and serves a purpose?

We focused on designing experiences that encourage curiosity, subvert expectations, and make every journey feel like a discovery.
“What does the user expect from an email?”

If the user expects a brand email to be an ad, then we should turn it into a game.


“What looks good on email platforms?”

With limited space and often busy UI, one challenge was creating a sense of openness within email inboxes. To bypass built-in styles and limited customization in automated email platforms, I created custom templates for greater control over each design.
How do we design for each platform?
The results were simple and fun experiences that rewarded interaction...
